Ken Burns has 29 years of Mechanical Construction And
facility Management experience. Working for Modern Piping,
Ken installed mechanical and plumbing systems as a Plumber/Pipefitter
from July 1977 through November 1987. During this period
Ken attended JATC Apprenticeship Training and evening
Pre-Engineering courses at Kirkwood Community College.
Upon Completion of the Pre-Engineering curriculum in
1987, Ken worked as a Facilities Engineer for Rockwell
Collins International in the Coralville and Cedar Rapids
Facilities. During the time he completed his B.S.E.
in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iowa.
Responsibilities at Rockwell included the expansion
of the Rockwell International Coralville Facility and
construction of satellite plants in Dallas, Texas and
Wichita, Kansas. Mechanical system design and installation
were reviewed for energy efficiency and offsite monitoring.
Ken returned to Modern Piping in March of 1993. Ken’s
responsibilities include project engineering, project
management and estimating. Ken’s diverse background
in construction and facilities engineering, enable designs
and installations of mechanical systems based of efficient
operations and maintenance. |
