John started his career with Modern Piping in 1983.
Prior to that he worked in the residential and small
commercial market as an apprentice plumber.
From 1986 to 2003 he was a field superintendent on a
variety of projects. They include Ellis Park, Cherry
Hill and Bender swimming pools. Remodel projects at
numerous downtown buildings including the Armstrong
Building and the US Cellular Center. He spent his last
12 years in the field at Genencor International overseeing
building expansions and making the many changes required
to keep up with the fast moving Bio-Tech industry.
He became a Project Manager for us in 2004. His first
project was The Center of Excellence, an expansion at
The University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics that required
the installation of Linear Accelerators, MRI, and CT/PET
for cancer treatments. We have concentrated John’s
efforts in the Iowa City area doing many project for
the University of Iowa. They include Kinnick Stadium,
The Old Capitol Building, The University Capitol Centre,
The West Chilled Water Plant and University of Iowa
Hospital and Clinics.
His hands-on experience, knowledge of the field conditions,
and how to handle them are a valuable asset to our office
staff. This knowledge cannot be learned from a book. |
